SFRA AGM Summary
On June 25th, 2018, the Spring Farm Ratepayers Association held its Annual General Meeting with over 100 residents in attendance. 2017 Minutes were ratified and can be viewed by clicking here. Updates were given on several projects and issues affecting our area, including the Vaughan Secondary Plan density increases for the Yonge/Steeles area, the Metrolinx “Missing Link” freight train issue and the Yonge Subway Extension.
Ward 5 Councillor, Alan Shefman, gave an overview of many of the development projects across the City, including the Viva Rapidway, the Promenade Mall redevelopment and the new Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital. Councillor Shefman also announced that the City will be developing a policy for AirBnB in Vaughan.
Mizrahi Group CEO, Sam Mizrahi, introduced the company’s new project at 100 Steeles Avenue West and spoke about his vision for the development. He announced that the Mizrahi Group would consult with the SFRA on community issues surrounding the development and invited anyone who wanted to be part of the process to contact the SFRA.
Following the presentations, a draw was held for door prizes that had been donated by local businesses and individuals. Minutes will be posted once ratified at the 2019 AGM.
